Crystal Tomb by Melanie Nilles

Mystery abounds in this third book in the Starfire Angels series. The history of the Starfire crystals are fascinating and I enjoyed how the author blended earth mythology (or is it history) of Atlantis with the tales about the Star Fire crystal. The story seemed real in the world that Melanie Nilles has created, and all of the events made logical sense in that world. Ellis and Raea found themselves being captured by aliens who can camouflage themselves to look like humans. Through the Starfire crystal Raea learns about the hatred of these new aliens to the Inari. I won't give some of the major plot turns away, but suffice it to say that Ellis and Raea's relationship is put under great strain as their bonding continues. A little bit melodramatic for my taste, but at least it does not hinder the telling of this story, and helps to move the plot line along. Overall this book was a lot more engaging than the previous one, simply because there was a ticking time bomb, and you felt the tension throughout. It was a hard book to put down.
